Staffing agency or should i apply directly?

Im worried about my job security the company is going through new management and they are laying off alot of employees.im not sure if there going to keep me but im worried.So i just want to apply at other companys before i get the boot. Should i apply with staffing agencys, temp agencys or apply directly with the companys i want to work with.
