What if Christ and Buddha are two terms for the same thing?

Like the Buddha means awake, and Gautama was called Buddha because he became awakened to his Buddha-nature, the consciousness in all things. Likewise, in the NT Paul says that Christ is in all, to put on the mind of Christ, to let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus, etc. Jesus said in the Gospel of Thomas, I am the unity, I am the whole that comes forth from wholeness, split a piece of wood or lift up a rock and I am there.
