A new country in the midle of the Atlantic Ocean?

I'm single handedly rowing across the Atlantic. At exactly the halfway point between the UK and USA, volcanic eruptions undersea form a new landm the size of France. I survive the ordeal and hence become the first human to set foot on this new land. Can I claim the land as my own and form a new country?
