Just wait a little longer and see if he says something to you about this. If he does talk to your friend first to see if its ok. You don't want to risk a great friendship over a relationship that may not last. If he doesn't say anything and you still don't want to tell him, move on. I really suggest confronting him with the topic. Boys tend to mature slower then girls so you might need to make the first move. If he really loves you, he will be nice about it. He may even be a bit embarred about something like maybe one of his friends read the texts you sent each other and started to tease him. Just make sure that he doesn't have a girlfriend before you make your move. Been there, done that!
